Club Activities

Monthly general meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month except for July and August. These meetings are open to the public!

We also organize an impressive number of other activities such as educational seminars, public outreach events, as well as group observing sessions throughout the year.

Our club has received a LX200 8" from an anonymous donor!

We've all heard the "baby in a basket" story. Well, one of our members (Bert) visited the observatory a few weeks ago and found a LX200 telescope in the driveway. It had a note saying that it was being donated.

The hand controller needs some work but the optics are in pristine condition.

Thank You Anonymous!

Armchair Astronomy - Tuesday, Jan 10 / 7:30 PM at the Observatory

This is an informal discussion group that gets together and gabs about anything and everything related to astronomy. You get to pick any topic you would like to gab about.

This is the 1st of what we hope to be a once-a-month event which will coincide with a full moon.   Andy says he wants to break the ice with a discussion about “The Big Controversy over the Big Bang” . In case you missed it, our guest speaker at our monthly meeting last Thursday was Dr. Mike Reid and this was his presentation topic. In my opinion, one of the most interesting presentations I have seen in a very long time.

So take a few moments and think about what you would like to talk about and we’ll squeeze in as many topics as we can.
